At decorMyPlace, challenges do not scare us; they excite us. When a client brings a design that looks nearly impossible, that is exactly what fuels our creativity and pushes our team to think deeper, work smarter, and execute stronger. One such memorable experience was the creation of a massive 30-feet-tall wooden grid wall — a structure that demanded precision, engineering balance, carpentry mastery, and a level of detailing that goes far beyond conventional interior work. What appears as a clean, beautiful, evenly spaced grid pattern is actually the result of complex technical decisions, hours of planning, and on-site coordination where every millimeter mattered.

The first major challenge was maintaining perfect alignment across a height of 30 feet. A grid pattern looks simple on paper, but in reality, it is extremely sensitive to even the smallest deviation. If the horizontal or vertical members shift by 2–3 millimeters, the error multiplies as the height increases. What begins as an unnoticeable misalignment at the bottom becomes a highly visible distortion by the time it reaches the top levels. Wood, being a natural material, expands and contracts with humidity and temperature changes, and this behavior directly impacts the grid’s accuracy. To maintain uniformity, our team had to use laser-level references, pre-fabricated jigs, and repeated cross-measurements during installation.
